Album posters analyse

This poster promotes Jessie J’s album. Jessie J’s name is written in golden text which symbolises wealth and power; this is something that her audience can inspire to. Also the name of the album is ‘who you are’ which is also inspiring to the audience because she emotionally connects with her audience and also creates a lifelong relationship. A lifelong relationship is created by her sharing her success with her audience and makes them feel as if they are going with the same experience, however they will only be allowed to share the experience if they are loyal and support her. By relating the album name to her customers she causes the customer to trust, believe and fall in love with her brand.

The poster layout is split into three pieces; the information, Jessie J and album name and then the finally part is her actual face. The colour code is very simple only two colours black and white, these acts as a Ying and yang and brings balance to the whole poster. Top third of the poster is a close up of her face with her hands by her temple with black make up and nail varnish, Goths are known for wearing black make up.

This poster can be identified by a global audience; this is because Drake shows a face to face pic of him as a child and an adult. This portrays him growing up and become the man he is today. This something the audience can relate to and inspire to, also makes big ideas which are accessible. The name of the album ‘nothing was the same’ has a narrative which the audience can relate because everyone grows up and goes through their own changes.
The poster shows two pictures of Drake as a child and adult, however both pictures share the same background. I think this represents that although nothing has changed around him he is focusing on his change, development and also his success growing up and future. The simple blue and white helps you focus on the changes between his child picture and adult. Drake’s child picture is looking up at his future self as that is what he aspired to be.

  1. There is some elements of good analysis when the image is related to targeting the audience and technically, how this is achieved.
